Are you tired of feeling bloated, uncomfortable, and downright miserable because of constipation? Believe me, I’ve been there. Can constipation cause back pain? Yes, it absolutely can. And constipation isn’t just a physical discomfort; it can affect your entire well-being, leaving you irritable, lethargic, and unable to focus.

The frustration of trying countless remedies for these symptoms only to find temporary, or worse, no relief at all, is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. So what can you do for constipation relief?

But let me assure you, I can help you to feel better.

You are not alone. Here are some stats:

Estimates of the prevalence of chronic constipation in North America have ranged from 12 to 19 percent. Self-reported constipation appears to be more prevalent in females and those over age 60. It is more prevalent in individuals with little daily physical activity, lower income, and poor education. In a meta-analysis of 26 studies, the pooled prevalence of chronic constipation in females was almost twofold that in males.

The prevalence of chronic constipation increases with age, most dramatically in patients 65 years of age or older. In this age group, approximately 26 percent of males and 34 percent of females have symptoms of constipation.

Natural Remedies for Constipation

As a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner for two decades, I can report that implementing natural remedies for constipation will help you feel better.

These ancient practices aren’t just about finding a quick fix; they’re about addressing the root cause of your discomfort and restoring the functionality of your body and mind.

In Ayurveda, constipation is often seen as a sign of weakness in the digestive system. Your digestive power is too low to sufficiently convert the food you are eating in a timely matter, leading to metabolic waste. These toxins can cause obstruction in your GI tract – hello gas, bloating, and constipation.

From simple dietary changes to incorporating specific herbs and spices into your routine,
Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to managing constipation that focuses on long-term wellness.
