Cozy Wednesday
Expect very accessible poses and sequences in this class.
This is a good one for you if you just started or relaunched your yoga practice.
Yet this doesn’t mean “easy and just gentle”; you will get the chance to challenge yourself physically and mentally.
Seasoned practitioners love this class because they can refine their current yoga poses, explore deeper expressions, and enjoy the company of their fellow yogis.
Some of them have been attending this class for almost 20 years!
Care-FULL Yoga
These classes are perfect for you if you want to try yoga for the first time, just took a very long break from yoga, or have tried it a few times online.
If you have to move slowly for whatever reason, like recovering from an injury and just completed your PT, having arthritis, or maybe dealing with sciatica or shoulder pain, you can do this class.
We won’t transition fast from one pose to another, spend too much time on the knees, or ever do something like a headstand or try to turn you into a pretzel.
Yet you will learn how to use your muscles to stabilize your joints and utilize your breath to help your body/mind heal. What is very important is that everyone in the yoga room is dealing with some physical challenges or is brand new to this, just like you! According to my students, just knowing this is reason enough to join this lovely group.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes BEFORE class if you are joining us for the first time. I would like to learn a little bit about how I can support you best during the yoga class.
Fancy Thursday
You want to have some experience in yoga asana practice to enjoy this class. As the name already gives it away, it is a FANCY class. This means you will explore more complex and challenging poses, transitioning from standing to supine to hand-balancing yoga postures.
Often, the class is designed to reach a particular peak pose, sometimes a specific inner state, or other times, you’ll enjoy a fancy form-based flow class.
You will learn in great detail how to use your muscles and attention to align each pose optimally for your needs that day. I will offer drills and repetitive movements to strengthen muscles you didn’t even know you had.
Expect laughter, great camaraderie, and kindness amongst wonderful yogis.
We are taking this practice very seriously, but we ARE NOT VERY SERIOUS if you know what I mean 😉
Sunday Hour
60 minutes to start your day by moving your body, relaxing your mind, and connecting with lovely people. What’s not to love? Each Sunday class is different than the previous one. You can explore a species category of poses like forward folds or backbends or move through a good flow class with quiet background music; sometimes, you will learn and embody specific alignment principles to make your practice more effective and enjoyable.
Often, folks hang out for coffee and tea to catch up on life right after class.
If you are looking for more than just learning and doing yoga poses, TYC is your best choice in town.
